A movie that has a significant following. Frequently cult films are films depicting controversial or distasteful persons, activities, or philosophies. Examples include Harold and Maude, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Queen of Hearts and many others. Before VHS and DVD art film houses would frequently show these films year after year. Even after home video many theaters make annual events of certain films.
